After two reported reckless driving incidents occurred in the same location Tuesday night, police in North Las Vegas continue to urge drivers to proceed at a reasonable speed.
One of the incidents occurred at northbound Aliante and involved a young driver in a black SUV.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a center median, hit a light pole, and rolled over.
The driver survived the crash and was cited for reckless driving. Their condition was not immediately known, although police say no one was transported to the hospital.
Police believe the driver was traveling at over 60 MPH.
The other accident occurred near the City of North Las Vegas Fire Department’s Administration Building on Losee and Alexander Road.
The vehicle is believed to have been traveling at around 80 MPH before crashing into the landscape of the government building.
The driver sustained only minor injuries and was also cited.
NLVPD reported that 10 officers made over 200 traffic stops throughout Thursday in an ongoing effort to keep the community safe.
According to the report, hundreds of citations were given out for traffic-related offenses, and two cars even had to be towed off the road.
