A long-standing Las Vegas bar temporarily closed its doors after a vehicle collided with the building early on August 4.
According to court records, 32-year-old Margerette Williams was identified as the driver involved in the crash into Dino’s Lounge, located on Las Vegas Boulevard near Oakey Avenue. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m.
Investigators allege that Williams was driving without a license, proof of insurance, or current vehicle registration. She faces multiple charges, including DUI. Police said she was traveling about 60 mph when the crash happened.
Williams reportedly told officers another vehicle rear-ended her, causing her to veer into the bar. However, police noted there was no visible damage to the rear of her car. Officers also reported finding an open container of alcohol and a small glass pipe with suspected narcotics residue inside the vehicle.
Dino’s Lounge, which opened in 1962 and is known as “The Last Neighborhood Bar in Las Vegas,” narrowly avoided injury to an employee who had stepped away from the crash site moments before impact.
Owner Kristin Bartolo said the bar was expected to reopen later in the week. Williams is scheduled to return to court in February.
