Driver Dies After Early-Morning Crash Into Pole in Northwest Las Vegas

A driver died early Thursday after a vehicle collided with a light pole in the northwest Las Vegas valley, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The crash was reported around 4:25 a.m. near Grand Teton Drive and Durango Drive. Investigators said a gray Nissan sedan was traveling north on Durango when it left the roadway and hit a pole at the intersection.
Emergency crews transported the driver to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Police said the driver later died.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Northbound lanes in the intersection and westbound Grand Teton remain closed while officers investigate.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area until the roadway is reopened.
