A driver was seriously injured Tuesday morning following a collision with a freeway service patrol vehicle on Interstate 15 in Las Vegas, according to Nevada State Police.
The crash occurred around 6:18 a.m. on northbound I-15 near Tropicana Avenue. Trooper Shawn Haggstrom of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol said a freeway service patrol vehicle was stopped on the shoulder while assisting another motorist when it was struck by a black Nissan SUV.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Police initially reported that the service patrol vehicle driver was also injured, but later clarified that the patrol driver was not struck and did not sustain injuries.
