Authorities say the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. when the trooper responded to a collision involving a red Nissan sedan and a Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle.
The trooper was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported. The driver of the sedan, showing signs of impairment, was also hospitalized before being booked on DUI charges once medically cleared.
