Escaped Inmate Captured and Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in North Las Vegas

U.S. Marshals Apprehend Escaped Inmate in Las Vegas
The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested 34-year-old Jhonathan Mount, who escaped from a Nevada Department of Corrections facility on September 8. Mount, wanted for obtaining and using personal identifying information, was captured without incident on December 5 in the 7300 block of South Bruce Street. He has been returned to High Desert State Prison.
North Las Vegas Police Investigate Fatal Shooting
On Thursday evening, North Las Vegas police responded to reports of an unresponsive man in the 2000 block of Daley Street, near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive. Officers arrived around 7:50 p.m. to find a man in his early to mid-20s with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives believe the incident was isolated and are actively searching for the suspect. No arrests have been made.
