LAS VEGAS – Once-popular North Las Vegas casino is being demolished.
Texas Station and Fiesta Henderson were demolished.
Many locals made memories at Texas Station.
Ava Smith adds, “There are things to do, but the Fiesta and Texas are gone.”
Monday, workmen began demolishing Texas Station as people took photos.
Tracy Bae, a resident, wanted to see it torn down because she couldn’t believe they wouldn’t sell it.
Fiesta Henderson was also demolished.
Red Rock Resorts announced the permanent closures to reinvest in other resorts.
A third of staff were reportedly given positions elsewhere.
In the valley’s southwest, the new Durango Resort and Casino is under construction.
Smith claims there’s nothing for kids to do.
Smith believes Texas Station was a family place.
Many wonder what’s next.
“For communal amusement, maybe a skating rink or a closer movie theater. “
Red Rock Resorts hasn’t said what will happen.
