LAS VEGAS, NV — Commuters in Southern Nevada faced a difficult morning drive today, April 3, as several high-impact collisions and road hazards triggered significant delays across major thoroughfares.
According to the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) FAST alerts, the morning’s disruptions began in the early hours:
-
Blue Diamond Road Investigation: At approximately 1:27 AM, a major crash was reported on Eastbound Blue Diamond Road at Valley View Boulevard. The collision resulted in the closure of three left lanes for several hours. While the lanes have since reopened, traffic remained congested through the mid-morning as investigators remained on-site.
-
Roy Horn Way Collision: Shortly after, at 2:26 AM, emergency crews responded to a second crash on Eastbound Roy Horn Way at Durango Drive. The right lane was blocked for a significant period, causing backup for early-shift workers.
-
I-15 Hazard Alert: As of 10:30 AM, a new hazard was reported on I-15 Northbound at Cactus Avenue. Motorists should expect lingering delays due to an ongoing motorist assist and debris scattered across the roadway.
Officials urge drivers to remain vigilant as cleanup crews and investigators finalize work at these locations. Traffic in the southwest valley is expected to remain heavier than usual through the lunch hour.
