Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Moped Rider Hospitalized in Southwest Las Vegas

Las Vegas police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after a crash involving a moped early Tuesday morning in the southwest valley.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded around 4:28 a.m. to reports of a collision near the intersection of Buffalo Drive and Desert Inn Road. Authorities said the crash involved a moped and a sedan.
When officers arrived, they found the moped rider injured at the scene. Emergency medical personnel transported the rider to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not yet released details about the severity of the injuries.
According to investigators, the driver of the sedan left the scene before officers arrived. Police have not provided a description of the vehicle or driver as the investigation continues.
The crash temporarily drew emergency crews to the intersection as officers worked to secure the area and gather information. Detectives are now attempting to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the suspect vehicle to contact police as the investigation continues.
