Home Invasion Suspect Refuses Court Appearance

Las Vegas, NV – Alejandra Boudreaux, the 31-year-old suspect involved in a home invasion that led to a fatal police shooting, failed to appear in court on Monday morning.

Boudreaux is facing charges of manslaughter, home invasion, and assault with a deadly weapon. The incident occurred on November 10th at a residence near Eastern Avenue and Sunset Road.

The homeowner, Brandon Durham, called 911 to report the home invasion, but was fatally shot by a responding Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer. The officer, Alexander Bookman, claimed to have seen Durham wielding a knife, prompting the use of deadly force.

Body-worn camera footage released by the police department shows the chaotic encounter and the officer’s rapid response. However, Durham’s family disputes the police account, alleging that no knife was present during the incident.

A judge has ordered that Boudreaux be transported to court by any necessary means for a rescheduled appearance on November 25th.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson is expected to release a statement later today regarding the case.
