A Suspect in the Fatal Northeast Las Vegas Shooting Has Been Arrested

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A suspect in a shooting outside a northeast valley property in late November was apprehended by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
LVMPD identified the suspect as Usbaldo Zarate, 27. According to police, Zarate was already in jail at the Clark County Detention Center on other charges when he was rebooked on murder and attempted murder charges.
According to court documents, Zarate was arrested on charges relating to an incident in North Las Vegas. In that case, Zarate faces accusations of assault with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm into a structure or vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a banned person.
At 8:53 p.m., LVMPD responded to a gunshot in the 4800 block of Ballantine Drive. Nov. 26. According to authorities, the victim was inside his car with two other persons when an unknown vehicle with many people arrived and fired multiple bullets at the victim, injuring him.
Juan Flores, 20, was identified as the victim by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. Flores died as a result of several gunshot wounds, and his death was deemed a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
Zarate is scheduled to appear in North Las Vegas court on Thursday and Clark County Justice Court on Monday, December 12.
