Two Las Vegas Residents Jailed After High-Speed Road Rage Chase and Shooting at Vehicle Tailgate

LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ / LAS VEGAS, NV — Two Las Vegas residents are facing a battery of felony weapon, assault, and endangerment charges after allegedly engaging in a high-speed vehicle pursuit and firing multiple rounds into another car during an armed road rage altercation.

The incident—confirmed by the Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) following weekend arrests—resulted in the booking of Malachi Walls, 31, and Jasmine Walls, 27, both identified as residents of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Malachi Walls remains in custody at the Mohave County Detention Facility on an $11,500 secured bond facing charges including drive-by shooting and multiple counts of aggravated assault. Jasmine Walls was released after posting a $10,000 secured bond on charges of reckless driving, facilitation, and hindering prosecution.

Verbal Altercation Escalates to Gunfire

According to police dispatch reports and sworn arrest affidavits released by LHCPD Public Information Officer Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, officers were dispatched at approximately 10:17 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, following 911 calls reporting a road rage pursuit and gunfire.

Investigators determined that the dispute began in the 1600 block of McCulloch Boulevard North, where Malachi and Jasmine Walls were engaged in a verbal argument.

During the confrontation, occupants inside another vehicle began yelling at the pair.

Instead of disengaging, the suspects followed the third-party vehicle at high rates of speed through several city streets.

During the pursuit, Malachi Walls retrieved a handgun and fired multiple rounds directly at the fleeing vehicle, striking the vehicle’s rear tailgate.

Despite bullets penetrating the exterior tailgate, none of the four occupants inside the victim vehicle sustained physical injuries.

Weapon Tossed and Suspects Apprehended

Officers intercepted both vehicles near the intersection of Acoma Boulevard North and McCulloch Boulevard North.

During preliminary questioning, police discovered the suspects attempted to conceal the crime by tossing the handgun out of their vehicle window along the pursuit route.

Patrol officers conducted an immediate grid search, located the discarded handgun, and booked it into evidence.
