The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is investigating a fraudulent hiring scam that targeted unsuspecting job seekers by advertising fake Amazon delivery driver positions—and taking their money in the process.

The Setup:

An online ad lured applicants with promises of third-party Amazon delivery jobs. Those who responded were instructed to visit a business complex near Sunset Park, fill out an application, and pay a $200 application fee. Applicants were even given future interview dates to make the scam look legitimate.

The Scam Unravels:

When hopeful applicants arrived Thursday morning, they were met with a shocking reality—the business office was completely vacant. Word spread quickly on social media, prompting even more victims to show up.

The Fallout:

By 8:27 a.m., police were called to the growing scene of angry and frustrated job seekers, many realizing they had been conned out of their hard-earned money. LVMPD’s financial crimes division is now leading an investigation into how long the operation had been running and how many victims were impacted.
