Las Vegas Gears Up for Spectacular New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, December 30, 2024 3:52 pm
As 2024 draws to a close, Las Vegas is set to dazzle with a grand fireworks extravaganza, launching from iconic rooftops including ARIA, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, The STRAT, Treasure Island, and The Venetian. The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas will also host a fireworks show over Fremont Street, with The Sphere joining the celebration with a countdown on its Exosphere.
With an estimated 400,000 visitors expected to join the festivities, safety remains a top priority. Metro Police assure that comprehensive measures are in place to protect both attendees and local neighborhoods. To facilitate the celebrations, several road closures will be implemented: Interstate 15 off-ramps at Flamingo and Tropicana will close in both directions starting at 5:30 p.m., and by 8 p.m., Las Vegas Boulevard will be entirely shut down to vehicular traffic.
Attendees should note that items such as strollers, backpacks, and glass bottles are prohibited on the Las Vegas Strip and in the Fremont Street Experience during the events. Warnings will be issued for violations, and prohibited items may be confiscated.
For those preferring to avoid the crowds, local news outlets will provide special coverage of the festivities, allowing viewers to enjoy the celebrations from the comfort of their homes.
