Authorities have arrested Hoza Del Collins, 30, a former Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) offender, on multiple felony charges including second-degree murder, drug trafficking, and supplying controlled substances to inmates. The arrest was made at his Las Vegas residence following a joint investigation by NDOC’s Office of the Inspector General and the Eastern Nevada Narcotics Task Force. Investigators recovered toxic materials believed to be used in manufacturing synthetic drugs at the scene. These substances—crafted from items like bug killers and strong cleaning agents—have been linked to a series of inmate deaths at correctional facilities in Nevada and California. Collins is now held at the Clark County Detention Center. NDOC has acknowledged assistance from local and California authorities in the operation and is reportedly enhancing its drug detection systems, including AI tracking and mail screening.
