Las Vegas Tesla Service Center Targeted in Apparent Arson Attack
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, March 18, 2025 11:26 am
In the early hours of March 18, 2025, a Tesla service center in Las Vegas became the latest target in a series of attacks against the electric vehicle manufacturer. Around 2:45 a.m., authorities responded to reports of multiple vehicles set ablaze at the Tesla Collision Center located in the 6000 block of West Badura Avenue.
Dramatic footage captured several Tesla vehicles engulfed in flames, with at least one car exploding, likely due to its lithium battery. The word “RESIST” was spray-painted in red across the facility’s door, suggesting a possible motive linked to anti-Elon Musk sentiments.
This incident is part of a troubling trend of vandalism targeting Tesla properties, coinciding with Musk’s role in assisting President Trump to reduce government inefficiencies as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). While authorities have not directly connected this attack to Musk’s political involvement, the timing raises questions about the motivations behind such acts.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is treating the incident as arson. Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren stated, “This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility.” The Federal Bureau of Investigation has also joined the investigation, emphasizing the seriousness of the crime. FBI Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans warned, “Violent acts like this are unacceptable, regardless of where they occur.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to the incident on social media, stating, “This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong. Tesla just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks.”
As investigations continue, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement.
