LVMPD Homicide Section Investigates Fatal Murder-Suicide of Estranged Couple on South Nellis Boulevard

LAS VEGAS, NV — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Homicide Section is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left an estranged husband and wife dead inside an East Las Vegas residence on Monday afternoon.

Patrol officers were dispatched at approximately 3:40 PM to a residential complex located in the 4900 block of South Nellis Boulevard, near East Tropicana Avenue, following emergency calls reporting gunfire.

Emergency Response and Crime Scene Findings

Arriving patrol officers and emergency medical personnel entered the residence and located an adult male and an adult female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Due to the fatal nature of the incident, the LVMPD Homicide Section assumed control of the scene. Detectives conducted neighborhood canvas interviews, examined ballistic evidence, and reviewed domestic dispute histories connected to the address.

Preliminary investigative findings determined that the couple had recently separated and were estranged. During an encounter inside the residence, the man shot his wife before turning the firearm on himself.

Coroner Review and Public Information

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the official identities of both decedents alongside the formal cause and manner of death once next-of-kin notifications are finalized.
