Metro Officers ID’d in Deadly Standoff Case

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released the names of the officers involved in Tuesday’s fatal shooting at the Parkside Villas apartments. Officers Jonathan Lo and Damon O’Donnell, both veteran members of the Community Safety Division, are currently on administrative leave following the incident that resulted in the deaths of Quinton Baker and his 3-year-old son, Kentre. While the department maintains that Baker used his son as a human shield and fired a weapon, the child’s mother has publicly disputed this claim, alleging that her son was unarmed and was caught in a “plethora of bullets” from police. The case has become a flashpoint for those demanding stricter body-camera transparency and a return to de-escalation training that prioritizes the lives of the innocent over rapid tactical response.
