LAS VEGAS, NV — A convicted felon who spent more than four years evading state probation supervision after being convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material has been returned to Las Vegas and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

The extradition of Michael Patrick Sullivan was officially confirmed Monday morning, October 26, 2026, by the Nevada State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Sullivan, who was placed on probation in late 2021, vanished from criminal supervision in January 2022, triggering an active multi-jurisdictional felony warrant that prompted a nationwide fugitive hunt led by federal and state task forces.

Investigators with the Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Division coordinated intelligence sharing with the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Fugitive Task Force, developing actionable leads indicating Sullivan had fled the state and was operating under deep cover along the southern Gulf Coast.

Multi-State Fugitive Tracking and Extradition

The operation culminated on October 7, 2026, when members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force moved in and apprehended Sullivan without incident in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Following extradition hearings in Mississippi municipal and county courts, Sullivan was remanded into the custody of transport deputies and flown back to Southern Nevada.

He was processed into the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) late Friday, October 23, where he is currently being held without bail pending formal revocation proceedings.

According to state court dockets, Sullivan was originally sentenced on October 21, 2021, to a prison term of 28 to 72 months after pleading guilty to felony possession of child sexual abuse depictions.

However, his incarceration sentence was suspended by a district court judge in favor of a five-year term of intensive supervised probation.

Under the conditions of that probation, Sullivan was mandated to submit to sex offender registration, maintain check-ins with state parole officers, and abide by digital monitoring restrictions. Less than three months into the term, Sullivan severed communication with state officials and abandoned his registered residence.

Probation Revocation and Imposition of Prison Term

With Sullivan back in custody at CCDC, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office is expected to file an expedited motion to revoke probation in the Eighth Judicial District Court.

State law dictates that absconding probationers face the automatic reactivation of their suspended sentences without credit for time spent on the run.

Sullivan will remain incarcerated at CCDC until his revocation hearing is finalized before an Eighth Judicial District judge.
