North Las Vegas: A Man Died After Rushing Into His Burning Apartment
LAS VEGAS – According to the North Las Vegas Fire Department, a man died after running into a burning residence in North Las Vegas.
NLVFD and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to a complaint of an apartment fire in the 2200 block of Sun Avenue, near Civic Center Drive and Cheyenne Avenue, at 6:18 a.m.
Witnesses told detectives that the man initially raced out of the apartment’s front door with flames behind him.
According to NLVFD, as he reached the bottom of the landing, he turned around, ran back up the stairs, and reentered the flaming apartment, closing the door behind him.
The man’s body was discovered in a back room of the house after the fire was extinguished. According to the NLVFD, the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
