One Dead After Gunfire Erupts During House Party in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a shooting at a house party left one person dead. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the eastern portion of the valley.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at a residence and discovered a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite medical intervention, the individual was pronounced deceased. Investigators from the Homicide Section were called to the scene to interview witnesses and collect evidence.
Preliminary details suggest the shooting took place during a gathering at the home. Police have not yet released information regarding a suspect or a specific motive for the violence. The area remained cordoned off for several hours as detectives processed the scene and canvassed the neighborhood for surveillance footage.
The identity of the deceased, along with the official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin. No arrests have been announced at this time.
