LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – In an effort to “identify local potential,” the Las Vegas Lights FC has announced that open trials will be held for the soccer club.
The two-day audition is scheduled for January 28–29, per a news release. All ages and backgrounds of players are welcome at the event.
Lights FC urged “any interested prospective professional players” to take part.
In the first five seasons of the Lights, nine local players have reportedly been on the team’s active roster.
For the first time in the club’s history, Lights FC claims the open trials will provide participants the opportunity to compete for a professional contract or a United Soccer League Academy contract, which is meant for players age 21 and under.
have not played in college or professionally in the past.
According to the team, players who have signed Academy Contracts are still qualified to play collegiate soccer in the future.
