Intersection Collision and Vehicle Recovery

Physical evidence and preliminary crash reconstruction indicate that the pedestrian was crossing Nellis Boulevard in or adjacent to the marked crosswalk at the Twain Avenue intersection.

A silver 2005 Toyota Matrix traveling southbound in the center travel lane entered the intersection and struck the pedestrian, projecting her forward onto the roadway. The driver failed to stop, render aid, or notify emergency services, fleeing the scene southbound.

Emergency medical responders transported the victim to the Trauma Center at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was admitted in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Medical staff and the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner confirmed she succumbed to her injuries the following day.

Detectives later located and secured the suspect vehicle, confirming it had sustained front-end and windshield damage consistent with the collision. The driver remains outstanding.
