Police Investigate Homicide in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV – A homicide investigation is underway after an incident occurred in Las Vegas on Friday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has deployed homicide investigators to the scene located at the 1000 block of Oak Tree Lane.
Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 3:33 a.m. when a report of a shooting at a residence near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Valley View Boulevard was received. The caller, who claimed to be a resident of the home, informed the police that there had been an intruder. He further stated that he had shot the intruder and was unsure of the intruder’s condition.
Upon arrival, the caller informed the police that he had secured his handgun inside the residence and was prepared to cooperate. Upon entering the home, first responders discovered the alleged intruder deceased.
The homeowner informed the police that there might have been two suspects involved, prompting investigators to continue the search for the potential outstanding suspect.
At this time, authorities have identified the shooter as a male in his 50s and the victim as a male in his 30s. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
