President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Las Vegas on Tuesday, where he will deliver remarks at two significant conferences for civil rights organizations.
On Tuesday, July 16, President Biden will speak at the 115th NAACP National Convention, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. According to a White House press release, he will “discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing racial justice and equity for all Americans, including Black Americans.”
The following day, on Wednesday, July 17, Biden will address the UnidosUS Annual Conference at the MGM Grand. He will highlight “the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic accomplishments, including lowering prescription drug costs for America’s seniors, reducing the Latino uninsured rate, and fostering a Latino small business boom.”
This marks Biden’s first visit to Nevada since March, when he outlined his administration’s plans to lower housing costs.
In light of the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, local police have announced enhanced security measures ahead of Biden’s visit.
Nevada is a crucial battleground state in the upcoming presidential election, adding significance to the president’s visit.
Vice President Kamala Harris is also expected to appear for a campaign event in the valley later this week.
