Nipton, CA – A tragic helicopter crash Friday evening near Nipton, California, claimed the lives of six people, including Dr. Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, the CEO of Access Bank, according to multiple reports.

Details of the Incident:

  • A Eurocopter EC130 helicopter, flying from Palm Springs to Boulder City, Nevada, crashed around 10 p.m. near the California-Nevada border.
  • CBS News confirmed that Dr. Wigwe, 57, his wife, son, and former Nigerian Exchange Group chair Abimbola Ogunbanjoa were among the victims.
  • The identities of the two other passengers remain unknown.
