South Valley Double Homicide Prompts Ongoing LVMPD Probe

LAS VEGAS, NV — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a double homicide in the south valley after officers responded to reports of gunfire Monday night. The shootings occurred in the area of Starr Avenue and Dean Martin Drive, where police found two victims inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

Responding officers rendered aid, and both the woman in her 20s and a young toddler were transported to University Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. A department spokesperson confirmed no suspects are in custody yet, and the LVMPD Homicide Section is leading the investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information or footage to contact law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.

The fatal shooting remains under active investigation, with officers focusing on witness interviews and scene processing. Police emphasize that there is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time, but they urge residents to share any relevant information to assist in solving the case.
