A 17-year-old suspect, identified as Elijah Belt‑Campbell, has been charged with open murder in connection with a deadly shooting at a house party in northwest Las Vegas earlier this month. Authorities arrested Belt‑Campbell on August 22, and he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. The shooting occurred on August 5 along the 5600 block of North Bonita Vista Street, where officers discovered 16-year-old Jayden Collins suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel later pronounced him dead at the scene. Collins’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. Belt‑Campbell made a court appearance Tuesday, during which his attorney requested a preliminary hearing in 30 days. He is scheduled to appear again on September 30.
