
Suspect in Middle School Shooting Held on $100,000 Bail

LAS VEGAS – An 18-year-old man suspected of shooting a security monitor at a middle school in Las Vegas has been held on $100,000 bail.
Jessie Rios was arraigned on Wednesday on 24 counts, including four charges of attempted murder to assist a criminal gang. Rios, a student at Sunrise Mountain High School, had two prior charges of possessing a firearm.
The shooting occurred on Monday at Von Tobel Middle School, and the victim was injured by a stray bullet but is expected to survive.
During a search warrant at Rios’ home, police found four guns.
Rios will be required to wear a high-level electronic ankle monitor and cannot have contact with the victims if he posts bail.
