Las Vegas law enforcement are investigating after a shooting early Wednesday at the main gate of Nellis Air Force Base. Around 12:28 a.m., a man reportedly fired shots at security forces stationed at the entrance. Security responded, striking the suspect in the leg. He was treated onsite with a tourniquet before being transported to a local hospital with non–life-threatening injuries. Base officials say the main gate will remain closed during the investigation, and traffic has been rerouted through Simons Gate in the meantime. Authorities emphasize there is no ongoing danger to the public.
