Las Vegas Metropolitan Police took a suspect into custody Tuesday morning following an overnight barricade situation in a west valley neighborhood.

Officers responded to the incident late Monday night after receiving reports involving a suspect who had barricaded themselves inside a residence in the west Las Vegas area. Police secured the surrounding neighborhood and established a perimeter while specialized units responded to manage the situation.

Authorities maintained a police presence in the area for several hours as negotiators and tactical teams worked to bring the situation to a safe conclusion. Residents nearby were advised to avoid the immediate area during the overnight response while officers worked to resolve the standoff.

By Tuesday morning, police confirmed the barricade had ended and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Officials have not released additional details about the suspect or the circumstances that led to the barricade as the investigation continues.

Metro Police say the scene has since been cleared and normal activity has resumed in the neighborhood. Investigators are continuing to review the events that led to the police response.
