LAS VEGAS – In a heartbreaking incident, 4-year-old Cooper Austin, who was found unresponsive in a family pool on May 31, has passed away, as confirmed by the Clark County Department of Family Services (CCDFS). The young child tragically succumbed to the incident on June 4 at a local hospital.
According to CCDFS, the child’s adult caregiver immediately called 911 upon discovering Cooper in the pool. Swift action was taken to pull him out of the water and initiate life-saving measures until emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene. Cooper was then transported to the hospital in critical condition.
It is worth noting that CCDFS had prior involvement with the household, having received two reports related to Child Protective Services in November 2022. The circumstances surrounding Cooper’s death are currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
