Two Crashes, One Morning: LVMPD Officers Involved in Separate Incidents Amid Rising Crime Concerns

On April 17, 2025, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers were involved in two separate vehicular incidents within a span of 20 minutes in the northwest valley.
The first incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. when officers identified a stolen vehicle near Smoke Ranch Road and North Rainbow Boulevard. As they attempted to intercept the vehicle near Lake Mead Boulevard and Rampart Boulevard, a collision ensued. The suspect fled the scene, and officers did not pursue. No injuries were reported among the officers involved.
Approximately 20 minutes later, a second crash occurred near Lake Mead Boulevard and James Bilbray Drive. This incident involved a Metro police vehicle and another civilian vehicle. An officer and two civilians sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Both incidents are under active investigation by the LVMPD.
