PAHRUMP, NV — Authorities have confirmed that two people were injured in a shooting incident Thursday morning in the suburban community of Pahrump, and a suspect is now in custody, Nye County law enforcement officials said.
Deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office responded around mid-morning to reports of a domestic incident near Mountain Falls Parkway and Coca Lane. Upon arrival, officers located two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. One of the victims was transported by air ambulance to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for further treatment; the other was treated locally, officials said.
While authorities have not released the victims’ names or their current medical condition, investigators have confirmed that no suspects remain at large and there is no known ongoing danger to the public. Law enforcement continues to interview witnesses and gather evidence as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officials with the sheriff’s office said the shooting appeared to stem from a private dispute and did not represent a broader threat to residents. Further details, including what led to the shooting, have not yet been disclosed.
