Unborn Baby Dies, Juvenile in Critical Condition Following Las Vegas Intersection Collision

A multi-vehicle collision in south Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon has left four individuals hospitalized, including a pregnant woman whose unborn child did not survive and a juvenile now in critical condition, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash occurred just after 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Windmill Lane and Las Vegas Boulevard. Authorities report that one vehicle ran a red light, leading to a chain-reaction collision involving three SUVs and a minivan. The expectant mother, who sustained serious injuries, required emergency surgery, but the infant could not be saved. Another child involved in the crash remains in a life-threatening condition. Two additional people sustained non-critical injuries.
The suspect driver failed a field sobriety test and is facing multiple felony charges, including DUI resulting in death, DUI causing substantial bodily harm, and reckless driving.
The intersection and surrounding roads remained closed for several hours as investigators secured the scene and continued their work.
