Las Vegas, NV – Eight years after the tragic deaths of Nehemiah “Neo” Kauffman and Sydney Land, their families continue to seek answers.
The young couple was found murdered in their apartment near Hualapai and Peace Way on October 26, 2016. Sydney Land’s father, Steve Land, described her as a vibrant and caring individual who was loved by many.
Police suspected the involvement of Shane “Suga” Valentine, who was also linked to a shooting incident at Kauffman’s mother’s home. However, no charges have been filed in connection with the double homicide.
The case was further complicated by the involvement of Judge Melanie Tobiasson, who was accused of meddling in the investigation due to her concerns about Valentine’s alleged attempts to lure her daughter into prostitution.
Despite the passage of time, the families of Kauffman and Land remain hopeful for justice. Steve Land, a Clark County Fire Department engineer, recalls the shock and grief he experienced upon learning of his daughter’s tragic death. He urges anyone with information to come forward and help bring closure to the case.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the double homicide and encourages anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
