SUMMERLIN —West Valley families are preparing for a vibrant Lunar New Year celebration happening tomorrow night as Downtown Summerlin hosts its annual parade honoring the Year of the Horse.
Festivities are set to begin Tuesday, February 17, at 6:00 PM along Park Centre Drive, featuring traditional fan dancers, towering stilt walkers, and a large-scale dragon performance. The event is presented in partnership with the BEST Agency and the Lohan School of Shaolin and is free and open to the public.
The parade has become a seasonal highlight for Summerlin residents, offering families a chance to experience cultural traditions while supporting local performers and community organizations. Organizers say the celebration reflects the growing diversity of Las Vegas neighborhoods and the role of private groups in bringing community-centered events to life.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead. Traffic adjustments are expected to begin mid-afternoon Tuesday near Dining Arroyo and Macy’s Promenade, with heavier congestion likely into the evening as crowds arrive.
Local officials advise attendees to arrive early, use designated parking areas, and allow extra travel time. The event is expected to conclude later Tuesday evening following the parade route through Downtown Summerlin.
