Ammonia Leak at Reno Ice Arena Promptly Resolved by Fire Crews

NEVADA – Late Monday afternoon, fire crews quickly responded to an ammonia leak at the Reno Ice arena in south Reno. The Reno Fire, Sparks Fire, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene before 3 p.m. to handle the hazardous situation.
As a precautionary measure, the building and Washoe County Baseball fields were evacuated to ensure the safety of the public. Fortunately, the leak was fixed in a timely manner, and no injuries were reported.
According to authorities, there is no longer any danger to the public, and the situation has been contained. The prompt response from the fire crews and law enforcement ensured the safety of the community, and the incident was resolved without any harm.
