Californian Man Detained During Lyon County Drug Raid

LYON COUNTY, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe)- On Sunday night, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) detained a California man during a narcotics bust in Yerington.
According to the LCSO, at around 8:50 p.m. A K9 Deputy stopped a suspicious car for traffic offences on November 27. Richard Campbell, 55, of Victorville, California, provided the police a different name, and the K9 alerted the cops to the presence of a prohibited drug inside the vehicle. During the traffic check, Campbell escaped on foot, and deputies pursued him for many blocks before apprehending and arresting him.
The car was searched and 457 grams (one pound) of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, and a considerable amount of cash were discovered. Deputies eventually discovered that Campbell has a significant criminal past and is a convicted felon.
Campbell is being held at the LCSO Jail on the following charges, with bail set at $178,114:
- Five outstanding warrants for his arrest
- Trafficking a controlled substance
- Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
- Resister peace officer
- Giving false identification to avoid prosecution
