Guilty Plea in Cares Campus Hit-and-Run Case: Accused Faces Life in Prison

NEVADA – David Turner, the man responsible for ramming his car into a group of pedestrians outside the Cares Campus in Reno, has pleaded guilty to all charges. Turner, 57, admitted guilt to one count of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted murder.

The tragic incident unfolded during the evening hours of April 3 when Turner deliberately struck a group of individuals serving food in an alley near Reno’s homeless shelter. This horrifying act resulted in the tragic death of 55-year-old Michelle Jardine and left Christina Roman and her daughter Clarissa with severe injuries.

Bystanders on the scene acted swiftly, subduing Turner as he attempted to flee. Despite his arrest, Turner did not provide a clear motive for his actions, leaving many questions unanswered.

Turner now confronts the possibility of receiving the maximum sentence: life in prison without the possibility of parole.
