RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – California has been hit by a strong storm that brought a lot of moisture.
As of 11 a.m. on January 5, chain controls or snow tires are necessary on the following mountain passes:
- I-80: From Boca to Kingvale in both directions
- SR-89: From Woodfords to Markleeville
From Pickett’s Junction to Luther Pass - SR-267: From Truckee to Kings Beach
- US-50: From Kyburz to Meyers
Due to the dangerous conditions, authorities strongly advise against traveling across Donner Summit at this time. Anyone who doesn’t need to travel is asked to stay at home until the weather clears.
