Man Arrested in Sparks for Hate-Fueled Attack on Neighbors and Police Officer

Sparks, NV – The Sparks Police Department arrested Scott Abel on Sunday evening at 5662 Churchill Green Drive after a troubling event. A neighbor dispute turned violent and racially inflammatory.
Abel’s neighbor conflict was reported to police at 6:30 p.m. Abel allegedly threatened his neighbors and threw huge pebbles at them. He racially slurred his neighbors, a couple and their two young children.
Abel pushed a woman trying to film the chaos. The aggressor resisted arrest when police arrived. Abel headbutted an officer while handcuffed.
Scott Abel has been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of battery, one count of prisoner battery on a police officer, one count of breach of peace, and one count of resisting and obstructing for his reprehensible actions.
The Sparks Police Department will thoroughly investigate this troubling occurrence to maintain community safety.
