NEVADA – According to energy officials, more electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be installed in Nevada by the end of 2023, as the state moves towards increasing its use of clean energy.

This initiative is part of Senate Bill 448, which is providing $100 million in funding for EV infrastructure development. The project aims to increase the number of charging stations in underserved communities as well.

Marie Steele, a representative of NV Energy, said that the economic recovery plan, which involves a one-time investment of $100 million in economic and job recovery as well as historically underserved communities, is focused on infrastructure development such as EV charging stations at community centers and along the interstate, as well as in local casinos to promote tourism.

Although it is too early to determine the impact of this project, officials anticipate a high demand for jobs resulting from this infrastructure development.
