RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – UPDATE: Reno Police said they responded to a report of a guy armed with a knife at Fifth and Virginia Streets.
When cops approached the subject, he refused to obey any verbal directions, prompting officers to pursue him on foot.
An cop attempted to stop him with less lethal force, but it was ineffective, thus bullets were fired.
The suspect was given emergency help and brought to a nearby hospital for additional medical care.
Due to the Washoe County Regional Officer Involved Shooting Protocol, the Sparks Police Department has taken over the investigation. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will be there to help.
