Suggestions that contribute to stopping weapons, drugs and other contraband from being snuck onto school grounds and into schools:
– Stop and frisk.
– Metal detectors at main entrance. No entry or exit except through main entrance unless emergency. – Alarms on all doors.
– Armed officers and or teachers with the appropriate training, licensing and of course voluntary.
– Safe rooms, hardened class rooms, panic buttons. Safe barriers. There is such a thing as bullet resistant wall panes (dry wall). The term bullet resistant is used only because it won’t defeat calibers like that of a .50 BMG intended to penetrate mild armor.
Protecting our children’s rights is paramount, however, hundreds of minors housed in a single facility with limited supervision in todays environment require additional measures to keep them and all staff safe.
Food for thought: Criminals generally don’t rob known cop bars, police stations, military bases and similar. Why? Because they know their odds of success and even surviving are slim.
