NEVADA – In a tragic incident that unfolded over the weekend, a Reno man has been arrested for the murder of his wife. The Reno Police Department responded to a shooting report in the 2400 block of Tybo Avenue, where they discovered 30-year-old Ashley Forcum with fatal gunshot wounds.
According to witnesses at the scene, Ashley’s husband, Mark Forcum, allegedly shot and killed her. Following an intensive search, authorities located Forcum on Tuesday as a passenger in a vehicle, where he was apprehended without incident.
Mark Forcum now faces charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, along with child abuse and abuse and neglect. Disturbingly, this is not his first brush with the law. In August 2022, Forcum was accused of running over a family member with his car in Elko. The Elko Police Department confirmed that he was due to appear in court for that case before his arrest in Reno for the murder of his wife.
