Schools Delayed on Tuesday Due to Hazardous Winter Weather Conditions

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Winter weather caused delays to some schools on Tuesday, January 17.

Schools on two-hour delay:

  • All WCSD schools including Incline Village
  • Bishop Manogue Catholic School
  • Newton Learning Center
  • Mater Academy of Northern Nevada MANN
  • St. John’s Children’s Center
  • All Carson City School District schools
  • All Storey County School District schools
  • Bishop Manogue Catholic High School
  • Our Lady of the Snows
  • Pinecrest Academy of Northern Nevada
  • Mater Academy of Northern Nevada

The College and Career fair has been postponed for Virginia City Middle School and Virginia City High School. There will be no Early Childhood for Hugh Gallagher.

Schools on a 90 minute delay:

All Douglas County School District schools.

College campuses:

University of Nevada, Reno classes and nonessential campus operations are pushed back to 10 a.m., this includes the Redfield campus, Building A at 18600 Wedge Pkwy., and the University of Nevada at Lake Tahoe location. For updates, visit www.unr.edu.

Truckee Meadows Community College classes and operations are delayed and canceled, with the exception of web classes. The campus and the Child Care Center will be open at 10 a.m., and all in-person classes and campus operations before 10 a.m. are cancelled.

All three of Western Nevada College’s campuses and the Child Development Center will open at 10 a.m.

In addition, All Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows clubhouses and school sites will be closed for programming Tuesday morning and there will also be no transportation.
