Several Schools in Sparks Went on a Brief Lockdown on Tuesday Afternoon Due to Reports of a Child With a Gun

NEVADA – At around 3 p.m., Sparks High School, Mitchell Elementary School, and Student Health Services locked down after police received information that a student with a gun was heading towards the high school. Authorities took immediate action and found the suspect, who was armed with a fake gun, and took them into custody. The age of the suspect was not disclosed.
The lockdowns were lifted at 3:15 p.m. and students were able to leave school safely. Authorities have not released any further details regarding the incident.
