Sparks Police Issue a Warning Against Fake Scam Calls Impersonating Their Employees
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, October 18, 2022 1:20 pm
The Sparks Police Agency is alerting people about a scam call claiming to be from the department and demanding money under pain of jail.
According to Sparks PD, callers may also request personal information.
They warn them that they will never threaten them or phone them to seek money or personal information from them.
According to Sparks PD, if you are called by an officer or detective, they will usually want to meet you at the police department, your apartment, or your place of employment rather than a random location.
If you receive such a call and have issues regarding its validity, Sparks PD asks you to contact them at (775)-353-2231.
