Train Carrying Grain and Corn Meal Derails in Lyon County

NEVADA – According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a train derailed in the vicinity of US-95 and Buckland’s Station on Monday afternoon. The mishap involved four train cars that were transporting grain and corn meal, and it occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries, and traffic flow remained unimpeded.
Union Pacific has taken the lead in examining the cause of the derailment.
